Credit Card Security Compliance and the Club Interface
Beginning January 1 st, 2008 merchant acquirers may require level 4 merchants to adhere to a new payment security standard. Due to these security requirements, PDQ will be making changes to the WALS Club Interface. PDQ will release a version of the Club Interface integrated with PayPal once all work on the application is complete. Several benefits of integrating with PayPal include;
- Users will be able to purchase washes using a valid credit card, pin less debit, or their PayPal account.
- Buyers will enjoy the security of the largest on-line payment processor.
- Downloadable transaction logs in multiple file formats for easy reconciliation .
Wash operators will be given two options for processing transactions through their club interface; Website Payment Standard and Payflow Link Payment Gateway.
Carwash operators looking to take advantage of the lowest processing rates, or have lower sales volumes, should choose PayPal Payment Standard when activating their club interface. Wash operators will be required to create a PayPal business account for the transfer of funds. Account holders will be able to transfer funds to another account of their choice whenever it is convenient. This account is free of charge with no monthly fees. PDQ encourages merchants using the club interface to create their PayPal business account before installation to prevent delays when their site is activated.

Those wash clubs processing high volumes of transactions on their club interface, or those who want the convenience of automatic funds transfer into a checking account will want to select Payflow Link Payment Gateway. This option transfers funds directly into your checking or money market account automatically and allows payment processing on several networks for a low setup and monthly fee. Payflow merchant accounts should be activated shortly before a club interface is activated to prevent delays.

Transaction Fees are applied only when you accept a payment from your club interface. Transaction fees vary depending on PayPal interface chosen.
There should be no changes necessary to host the application, but for those people hosting the club interface on their own server, please visit https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/ to ensure compliance with all hosting requirements.
Aside from adding these additional features, the club interface will continue to allow the general public to create and manage their own wash accounts on-line.
Carwash operators can continue to use their existing Club Interfaces which processes credit cards through Authorize.net. However, the carwash operator’s bank may force them to adhere to these new security requirements in the near future – and at that time, the carwash operators would need to upgrade their Club Interfaces.
PDQ has developed a compliant version of the Club Interface that is currently in testing. For any merchants that are required to meet the new security requirements immediately, PDQ can supply the new Club Interface that will meet compliance standards.
